We are in the midst of our forty day journey as a congregation, immersed in Irresistible Invitation: Responding to the Extravagant Heart of God.  We have been growing spiritually - individually and in small groups - as we’ve been hearing and sharing the wonderful Good News of God’s grace, how God wants a relationship with each of us, a relationship that will touch and transform every dimension of our lives.

This has been an amazing happening!  Almost 200 people are engaged in this journey of spiritual formation!  We are grateful for the power of God moving among us to renew us as a church, even as we are grateful for the enthusiastic and able leadership of Keven Prather (Chair) and all of our Stewardship Development Committee.

Essentially, it’s all about what happens when we let go of ourselves, investing life and love - and our resources - in people outside of ourselves : lives change - theirs and ours.  We know this, for God through Christ invested life and love in us, and we are not the same!

On the first weekend of November, we once more have the opportunity to see and celebrate the power of life and love given and invested  We celebrate the time as “All Saints Saturday/Sunday”, lifting up in memory those who helped make us and our church what and who we are and it is.  Think about it : where - what and who - would we be without their lives and love invested in us?  Where what and who - would we be as a church?  In worship, we shall give thanks; in communion with them and with our Risen Lord and all the saints we shall be reminded of it : no life comes without the giving of life.

If you have been wondering “What does all of this have to do with stewardship in the church?”, now you know the answer : everything!  Simply everything.

Grace and Peace
