2010 Mission Team PDF Print E-mail

The 2010 mission team left for Masindi, Uganda on Tuesday, July 6th.  There was a send off here at the church at 1:30pm.  There are 16 in this team and they covet your prayers, until they return on July 28th.  The team includes our Pastor, who plans to have reports from the team in our worship services.  Meet the 2010 Masindi Mission Team.

In their final meeting, they packed medical supplies, school supplies, sponsor letters/packages and whatever items of need in Uganda that they could fit in their bags!  We are also blessed by the gift raised by so many for the purchase of mosquito nets.  The team will purchase mosquito nets in the capital city Kampala upon their arrival.  They will treat the nets with insecticide and then give them to the people of Masindi.

You may keep up with the team and their progress at www.masindieducation.org.  Several of the team will be blogging (writing little notes), when they have access to the Internet.  You may comment on their blogs, by clicking on the "Add new comment" link.  The website also includes photos from prior trips and a photo album of African animals and flowers.  If you register on the site, you can view the profiles of the team members and add your own blogs.  And the site will be updated throughout the trip with new photos and videos.

Pray for the team daily ... for safe travels, good health, and Godly impact!  God bless all our missionaries!

About Rock Foundation School

Rock Foundation School (RFS), sponsored, in part, by Masindi Educational Ministries, seeks to be a leading "Model-of-Excellence" among educational institutions in Uganda. RFS will provide high-quality, affordable, comprehensive education at all levels, expanding from the current nursery and primary school, to secondary, trade & vocational training, and university-level educational opportunities.

The people of Masindi have become like family to many of us as we correspond and travel back and forth. This is a real community, with real needs, where you can write and VISIT (if you wish) the people you are assisting. Nearly 100% of the money that you provide for school fees or construction expenses goes directly to the school and is TAX-DEDUCTIBLE.

Rock Foundation School History PDF Print E-mail

Since 2002, the congregation of Chardon United Methodist Church  has embraced this project and has been generous and tireless in their support. In late 2002, construction commenced and in February 2003, Rock Foundation School opened it's doors to the Masindi community, offering high-quality, affordable, Christian education to the children of Masindi.

Small classes of sponsored children began attending nursery through Primary 4 (P4), with the next grade level added each year thereafter. The school buildings are basic but adaquate, with walls of burnt brick, iron-sheeted roofs, cement floors, sturdy iron doors and large windows. Each classroom has a large blackboard and the children use simple wooden desks and benches.
