The United Methodist Men are still available whenever help is needed. Regular monthly meetings are held the 3rd Wednesday during the school year, and we have one or two events a year that are open to spouses. We meet for devotions, fellowship, and an evening meal. Our meetings usually include a speaker. We help families in need as a mission.
Although there must have been a men’s group for nearly all of the church’s history, Dr. Paul Secrest (Superintendent of the Akron District) presented a Charter of Methodist Men to Wayne Phipps (president of the local men’s club) in 1954.

Maple Grove Pavilion at Big Creek Park
The United Methodist Men held our annual Hamburger Corn Roast, and over 70 people attended. We had great burgers and locally grown sweet corn, sides, sodas and dessert under the shelter of Maple Grove pavilion. This mid-summer treat is always a great way to meet your friends and make new ones in a low-key, flip-flops and shorts casual environment. The UMM has done this every year for many, many years and every year it gets better and better. Join us next year and experience one of Geauga County’s most beautiful parks. |
