Members of the United Methodist Church may participate in other mission outreach opportunities, as they arrive. They may be sponsored by other churches in our area, and we encourage you to participate in any mission trips your heart pulls you to.

We have needs in the community around us. Our Missions Committee is spearheading our school supplies outreach with Geauga County Jobs &Family Services (JF&S). They have "shopping days" for kids who have a hard time affording school supplies.
We invite you to help our neighbors' children in Geauga county. It is easy ... if you are shopping for supplies for your kids, grab a few extra items for donation. Bring the donations to church office and we will make sure they are delivered to Jobs &Family Services. Staples has lots of great sales during the week of July 11 for school supplies (1 cent deals!)
We also need volunteers for distribution on August 9th at the J&FS offices from 9:00 am - 4:00 pm. (You don't need to volunteer for the complete day.) |

One Great Hour of Sharing |

March 22, 2009
Gifts to this offering underwrite UMCOR's "costs of doing business." That helps us keep our promise that 100% of every other gift you make to a specific UMCOR project can be spent on that project-not on home office costs.
UMCOR is a good steward of God's gifts. Offering gifts over and above those used to cover administrative costs are channeled where they're most needed. UMCOR's specialized ministries-responding in disaster, fighting hunger, alleviating poverty, providing relief supplies around the world, and offering hospitality to immigrants and refugees-all assist the most vulnerable people whose need is greatest. |

Looking for a valuable way to share your gifts and talents with others? Are you good with numbers and willing to give a little of your time to make a positive impact? Then don’t delay, sign up today! Become a volunteer tax preparer for low income working families through the Geauga Financial Stability Partnership! Training will be provided.
Beginning in mid-January, United Way Services of Geauga County will be coordinating ‘Free Tax Preparation Sites’ for low-to-moderate income families. In order to provide these services free of charge, they are in need of volunteers that would be willing to receive training and provide these services. The time commitment is minimal compared to the amazing impact this service will provide for our community. |

November 14-23, 2008
Western Reserve District
After Hurricanes Katrina and Rita in 2005, Methodist churches all over the country sent teams to New Orleans to clean up, repair, and rebuild neighborhoods. In November 2007, the Mayfield United Methodist Church sent their fifth mission team along with 11 other Western Reserve District churches down to rehab three churches and homes nearby so that they can reopen and minister to their communities. These teams give hope to the people in need, letting them know they are not forgotten. Many of the team members have returned 2 or 3 times because they found the interaction with the people so rewarding.
If you would like to join the group on this next trip, please contact:
