Practices begin February 22nd
Passing time, looking forward to Spring? How would you like to help your neighbors? It is time again for the voices of the Good Tiding Benefit Choir to come together to raise spirits and funds for the Geauga Hunger Task Force.
The choir will be performing the second and third section of Handel’s Messiah. The practices will begin February 22nd at 2 pm in Notre Dame Chapel, located at 13000 Auburn Road in Munson, Ohio. The practice will occur each Sunday afternoon until the performance on April 5th at 3PM. The performance also will take place at Notre Dame Chapel, home of the Sisters of Notre Dame. The choir is open to high school students and older. You may bring your own score with you or there will be copies available for $7.00.
There is no charge for the performances but donations for the Geauga Hunger Task Force are appreciated. Reservations are not necessary. The choir will be under the direction of Robert Boles and accompanied by Valerie Stone. The Geauga Hunger Task Force is a volunteer driven organization that has been in existence since 1977. There are seven food pantries throughout Geauga County that serve the hungry year-round. It was a difficult year for the Geauga County Food Banks in 2008 and it appears that 2009 won’t be any better. There were 7,537 visits for help, a 44%+ increase over 2007 with the highest increase from the school age children. The Food Banks can really use our help.
Please consider joining either the choir to sing or to hear them perform April 5th. For more information, please contact Lori Sebulski at United Way Services of Geauga County at 440-285-2261 Ext. 225 or
