Chardon United Methodist Church

New security measures have been implemented over the summer.  You will notice as you come in the south side (main) entrance a ‘call button’ has been installed on the wall to your right.  When the office is open the exterior doors (1st set of double doors) will be kept unlocked.  The second set of doors (entering the Atrium) will be locked. 
 
To access the lobby:

• Press the call button.
• Staff will answer your call and release the lock

When the office is closed (including when staff is out to lunch) the exterior doors will be locked.  Anyone who has key access will be able to unlock the exterior doors, and the Atrium double doors will be unlocked.  These security measures will not affect anyone attending evening meetings and will not be in effect during church related functions such as weddings, funerals, worship services and other large events.

This type of tightened security is taking place in churches all over Geauga County, including many of the churches in Chardon itself.  We believe these measures are warranted in order to maintain the safety of our staff and the security of the building.
