Earlier in the year, Church Council hired Kimball Consulting to complete a feasibility study for a potential capital campaign. We agreed to hold a Focus Group methodology for this study. The purpose of the Focus Group methodology is to involve a large portion of the church in a non-threatening process to share information about the needs, solicit feedback, and identify the issues that will be salient to make the case for the campaign. Additionally a Feasibility Study takes the pulse of the congregation to measure its willingness and readiness to embark on a capital campaign.
We held five Focus Group forums, in which 66 people participated in. In addition to the 5 Forums, a total of 27 persons participated in personal interviews with Bill Kimball. This group was selected by the Pastor with advice from the Task Force from the criteria of spiritual leaders, financial leaders, and influential leaders in the church who may benefit from a more in depth process and confidential discussion with Dr. Kimball.
A total of 76 people answered questionnaires that were distributed during these sessions. After the results of the focus group, personal interviews and questionaires were compiled, the Church Conference agreed to proceed with the proposed capital campaign.
Below is a summary of the questionaire results:
Should we have a capital campaign?

If we have a capital campaign, what would you consider the most important project(s) we should include?

If we have a capital campaign, would you consider supporting it by volunteering to be on the committee?

If we have a capital campaign, would you consider supporting it with a financial contribution/pledge?
