Dear New Friends at Chardon United Methodist Church,

We have received a most warm and hospitable welcome here in Chardon. We cannot name every person responsible, but we know we would begin with Henry and Darlene Woodruff, the Staff Parish Relations Committee, the Board of Trustees, the office staff and the UMW.

On behalf of the Annual Conference and other pastors in our move chain (four other pastors have to move behind me but by July 1st), we would like to thank you for allowing us to move in early, on June 10th. When we arrived there were signs to greet us, the parsonage had been painted and carpets were either new or shampooed. Landscaping had been done, so the house and yard were completely clean and looking very crisp. The UMW had purchased a new refrigerator. Food was brought in to feed us and family and friends for those first hectic days.

When you name persons you always run the risk of leaving others out and we are sure this was the effort of many people. But certainly we would be remiss not to mention that the parsonage project was under the leadership of Rachel Vanek, and the careful, detailed eyes and daily oversight of Marge Noble. I know the refrigerator and first meal came from the UMW led by Prudie Rupp, with delivery help from Michael and Nancy Ostovic. Another meal was provided by Barb Knecht.

Thank you all for this marvelous welcome. Like the grace of God we did not deserve it, but we will always be most grateful and appreciate what has been provided.

Abundant Blessings, Dan and Debbie
