June 13-19

The youth are actively planning their trip for Campbell County, Tennessee this year.  They raised about $1,500 selling hand-made Easter eggs.  Chocolate covered eggs, with peanut butter, cherry and coconut fillings!  They were good!  We also made over $4,000 at the ASP Spaghetti Dinner and Auction.  But we still need to raise more.  We are sending 28 people (4 complete work crews).  We will need 4 vans (including our church van), supplies, food, and shelter, which adds up to about $7,000.  Please help us on our journey, and pray for us while we're gone.

Please bring your cars to our Car Wash on May 22, and shop at the Garage Sale while we wash your car.

On May 2nd, we held our annual Spaghetti and Meatball Dinner and Auction in Hayden Hall.  This event helped us to raise over $4,000 to send our youth to Tennessee for the Appalachia Service Project (ASP).  We thank all the local restaurants and organizations who donated items for the auction:
Bass Lake Tavern, Geauga County YMCA, Morgan's Place, Chardon BrewWorks & Eatery, Geauga Music Center, NOCE Gourmet Pizzeria, New York Deli & Grille, El Patron, Rosepointe Cottage Tea Room, Klerco, Tracy Vance, Laura Diemer, Ken Pritt, Brad Dean, and John Eltzroth.

We especially thank those who purchased the items in both our silent and live auction!  You made this the most successful auction event ever! Thank you for helping our youth change lives in Tennessee, and to change their lives with service in God's name.

Perry County Kentucky

“Not by force, nor by strength, but by my Spirit.”

Zechariah 4.6

This year, our 32nd year of ASP, we sent our high school students and their adult advisors to Perry County, Kentucky.  Our youth left Chardon on Saturday, June 2oth, and returned on June 27th.  They told their stories Sunday, June 28th at each service (8:15 am, 9:30 am, and 10:45 am).  They talked of hard work, with minimal injuries.  They talked of families that they were sent to help.  Even in an area of recent flooding, the hope and faith of these families touched both our youth and their advisors.  Please review the ASP 2009 Photo Album.

We thank those who helped pay their way, and particularly thank those who went on the trip.  And we continue to pray for the families that they helped.

Thiry-one years later, we again sent our high school students and their adult advisors out to "get 'er done".  Our youth left Chardon on Saturday, June 21st, and returned on June 28th.  They told their stories Sunday, June 29th at each service (8:15 am, 9:30 am, and 10:45 am).  They told it all; the good, the bad and the ugly.  And, about the love, the maturing and the faith.  Please review the ASP 2008 Photo Album.

We thank those who invested in ASP by buying one or more 'bricks' and those who supported the spaghetti dinner and auction.
